However, there’s still a sense of grace in Grande, who has shown immense strength over the years while handling criticism and challenges. Despite all the backlash she has received, she has shown up for her fans yet again, and this time, with a beautiful message.

Ariana Grande has recently shared an emotional message through her Instagram stories and expressed her gratitude for all the supportive fans. Especially the ones who stuck by her during periods of silence, even when she was filming Wicked, and not focusing on music.

She acknowledged their dedication and wrote about how she doesn’t get enough chances to show how she truly feels. Grande thanked them for sticking through “the drought” which is a testament to the deep bond she shares with her fans.

Grande’s hiatus from Wicked was a tough period for her dedicated followers who anticipate her new music. For years, the singer-songwriter has spoiled her fans with back-to-back album releases, live performances, and world tours. So this sudden break from music wasn’t something that her fans were used to.

On the contrary, Grande’s act of thanking her fans should be considered graceful because there were several instances when they relentlessly criticized her for her relationship with Ethan Slater.

Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater: Responding to the Backlash

When Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater’s relationship was first made public, netizens, including her fans were in an uproar. Slater was married to his high school sweetheart, Lilly Jay, and the two also shared a child. Moreover, the news of his romance with Grande hit the tabloids only shortly after her divorce from Dalton Gomez (via Page Six).

So, media outlets and her followers were quick to criticize her, and she received a lot of hate for the same. She released a song called Yes, And? Which was seemingly about her response to the backlash. With one lyric implying that why does anyone care who she’s currently with? But with much more s*xual undertones.

But despite all the hate she received, Grande seems to be unshaken and confident about the choices she’s made. As she continues to shine in Wicked and her personal journey, she’s surrounded by people who love her and genuine fans.

Wicked is currently playing in theatres.
