When people need them the most, Mike Ross and Harvey Specter appeared in the iconic legal drama show Suits. Well, with the world needing them again, Stephen Amell is going to take the lead this time as Ted Black in the upcoming spin-off show Suits: L.A.
However, not every spin-off can be equally as good as the original. Having a great reference series or movie does not guarantee that the project will be a success. If Stephen Amell wants to see Suits: L.A. succeed, he’ll have to fix one awful mistake that he made while filming Arrow.
Stephen Amell Will Have to Avoid This Mistake
Back in 2012, the iconic show Arrow premiered on the CW network to critical acclaim and fame. Stephen Amell portrayed the lead role of Oliver Queen in the show for several seasons.
However, the show was kept episodic rather than one big storyline that followed a narrative. As a result, the production of Arrow was quite a chaotic story as the deadlines were tight around the corner.
From storylines to maintaining character development to the final shoot of the episode, the production became a chaotic house that took a toll on some of the people involved with the show. Fans have alleged that several episodes felt rushed in Arrow while others had perfect pacing. In an interview on SiriusXM, Stephen Amell revealed the behind-the-scenes of Arrow.
When I go back to the pilot of Arrow, we had 14 days to shoot the pilot! And then we get to the second episode that they want to be bigger and better and battering and you have 8 days!
He further continued,
And so, what we would do on Arrow and what I tried to bring both as a performer and producer is ‘Let’s find practical ways to do things. Let’s find very practical ways to go about this’.
Due to the episodic nature of Arrow and some of the shows like The Flash, several episodes were rushed quite a bit. Several storylines were left incomplete and several characters were given unsatisfying endings as well.
Despite it all, Arrow managed to stay above ground and ran for a total of 8 seasons before stopping in 2020. What Stephen Amell learned from the iconic show will be taken with him onto the set of an upcoming spin-off titled Suits: L.A.
Stephen Amell’s New Spin-off is Quite Interesting
Jessica Pearson, Donna, Harvey, Mike, Louis. It feels like several years have passed since we last saw the iconic offices and skyline of the law firms of Suits. Well, the show did end 5 years ago and fans surely miss the high-tension legal drama.
However, in 2023, it was announced that production on an unnamed Suits spin-off was in development. Recent news states that Stephen Amell will be portraying the lead role of Ted Black in the upcoming spin-off.
Joining him for the ride are Josh McDermitt, Lex Scott Davis, and Bryan Greenberg of Suits L.A. Not many plot details have been revealed about the upcoming spin-off but it is alleged that Amell (Ted Black) will lead a law firm while specializing in criminal and entertainment law.
There are also reports that Gabriel Macht will reprise his role of Harvey Specter in the upcoming show. As much as the world would love to see it, the Harvey Specter rumor cannot be confirmed or denied. Suits L.A. is currently set for a release date of 23 February 2025 in the U.S.
Suits, which received a rating of 8.4/10 on IMDb and 91% on Rotten Tomatoes, is available to stream on Netflix in the U.S.
