New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers signed with the organization in 2023 after a long run with the Green Bay Packers.
The belief with Jets ownership was that Rodgers would finally get the Jets back to the playoffs and, perhaps, a shot at an elusive Super Bowl.
Then, four plays into his New York tenure, the quarterback blew out his Achilles and was done for the remainder of the ’23 season.
After a lengthy rehab, Rodgers returned this year at 40 years old and promised a better future for the team.
Unfortunately for Jets fans, that has not happened, and the organization is currently third in the AFC East with a 3-8 record.
Longtime New York radio personality Mike Francesa recently shared his take on what is wrong with Rodgers.
“I think he’s hurt,” said Francesa on Friday’s Mike Francesa Podcast, via Funhouse on X. “I don’t know what the injury is, could be to his ankle, to his knee, could be a hamstring, could be to a hip. I don’t know what it is but it’s clearly…he is not stepping into his throws. He is throwing only with his upper body.”

There has been no public mention of Rodgers’s lower-body injury, but there is widespread belief that something is plaguing the quarterback.
Since the start of the season, Jets owner Woody Johnson has fired former head coach Robert Saleh and former general manager Joe Douglas on Tuesday, largely because of the quarterback position.
Johnson tried getting the coaches to bench Rodgers earlier this year but was overruled.
Even if the team somehow manages to finish with a respectable record, Rodgers’s NFL days are likely numbered.
