Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece tells the hearty journey of Monkey D. Luffy and his Straw Hat crewmates, who have been looking for the most alluring treasure of the same name as the show’s title to become the King of the Pirates.
With the series narrating the journey of the beloved pirates for 25 years, it has featured many arcs with an immersive world that has flaunted some of the best villains in the Shonen genre. From Arlong to Kaido, all have left a lasting impression on viewers.
One name tops the list, Donquixote Doflamingo. Unlike the other villains showcased in the series, he was quite different because Oda-Sensei decided to make him pure evil, who enjoyed tormenting his foes. While he was not afraid of the Hero of the Marines, he was scared of his female version, who went out of her way to arrest him.
Doflamingo Was Afraid Of One Marine For All the Right Reasons
In the world of One Piece, the sheer number of villains that have been created by Eiichiro Oda to act as obstacles to give character growth to Luffy is absolutely insane. While some are forgotten because the show has been going on for so long. However, for the fans, it is impossible to forget about Donquixote Doflamingo, the former King of Dressrosa.
From his first appearance in Punk Hazard, he sent shivers down the spine of the entire G-5 and the fans. Despite not being the strongest name in the entire series, he surely was the most wicked one, doing the most heinous crimes without showing any remorse for his actions.
However, for a personality like his, he was afraid of only two names. According to an anime creator (@tamirsverse), they explained that the former Celestial Dragon was afraid of Kaido because he is the “strongest creature” on land and air. Hence, he would ensure that he would supply him with the SMILE Devil Fruits.
However, the other name that he’s afraid of would surely take the fandom by surprise. The creator stated that Tsuru, the female version of Monkey D. Garp, sent shivers down the spine of Doflamingo, who would show a “certain degree of respect to her.”
The influencer explained that before the Captain of the Donquixote Pirates earned his status as the Warlord of the Sea, Tsuru was constantly in pursuit of him.
Hence, the minute he lost his status, she came after him, even going out of her way to arrest him. This revelation took the entire fandom by surprise because they couldn’t fathom that a name like Doflamingo was afraid of someone from the Marines.
One Piece Fans Were Surprised To Learn About Doffy Being Afraid of Tsuru
In the entire Dressrosa Arc, fans were flabbergasted as they saw his traumatic backstory, which made him nothing but a stone-cold evil, who is the biggest anarchist in the entire series. Time and again, we witnessed how he would not hesitate to murder people and treat them as nothing but toys for his entertainment.
However, when they learned that he was scared of Tsuru, they were stunned because his status and personality showcased him to be a man with no fear. The fans dropped their opinions in the comments, which showcased their admiration of Garp’s co-worker.
