Blackburn Rovers vs Portsmouth latest as pitch inspection planned

There will be a pitch inspection at 11am.

Blackburn Rovers vs Portsmouth is scheduled to go ahead, subject to a pitch inspection at 11am.

Temperatures are due to rise today and throughout the evening after a bitterly cold week. It is rain, rather than any frost, that has lead to this pre-match checks.

A statement, published at 10:30am, said: “A pitch inspection will take place ahead of today’s Sky Bet Championship encounter against Portsmouth at Ewood Park.

Today’s referee, Farai Hallam, will determine whether the surface is playable following torrential rain in the area overnight, with an inspection planned for 11am. We will provide an update in due course.”

Over 2,000 Portsmouth fans are making the journey to Ewood Park and will have long set-off for Ewood Park.
