A WOMAN is in a critical condition after a two vehicle collision in Cork.
The collision occurred at 10am on Wednesday on the N28 road at Carr’s Hill near Mt Oval.
Gardaí have closed the road in both directions to facilitate the work of the emergency services.
Gardaí, paramedics and units of Cork Fire Brigade attended the incident.
A woman, aged in her 30s, was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to Cork University Hospital (CUH).
It is understood she is undergoing emergency surgery and is in a critical condition.
The road will remain closed to allow Garda technical and forensic experts to examine the scene.
