A group of women went to the rescue of their 77-year-old neighbour who was being terrorised by masked intruders after they heard the sound of his back patio door being smashed in.
Two burglars, who were armed with a screwdriver, broke into the widower’s home in the Valley Park area of Finglas, Dublin, at 9.15pm on Tuesday as the widower watched TV.
