The Los Angeles Clippers saw James Harden make history.
He just passed Ray Allen for the second-most three-pointers in NBA history.
The only player ahead of him is Stephen Curry.
Curry, who has played in fewer career games than Harden despite being a part of the same 2009 NBA Draft class, shattered Allen’s record years ago, and he’s usually been a step ahead of Harden in his career.
That’s why, despite plenty of mutual respect, it’s not like they will ever be friends.
When asked about that, Harden admitted that he felt “a type of way” about Curry because of all the times the Golden State Warriors got the best of his Houston Rockets (via Justin Russo).

He still hopes the fans can understand that competitive nature and appreciate it.
That makes perfect sense.
If it wasn’t for Curry and the dynasty, Harden could’ve had at least one ring or another trip to the NBA Finals.
Also, it’s not like they have similar personalities or anything.
At the end of the day, the fans always want to see the best players fighting hard against each other; that makes for a much better product.
As long as they can respect and appreciate each other and everything they’ve done for the game of basketball, there’s no need for everybody to be best friends with any other player.
Game recognizes game, and these are two of the greatest players ever to lace them up.
