Denver Broncos rookie quarterback Bo Nix got off to a rocky start this season, but lately, it is starting to look like he could be the answer the team has been looking for since Peyton Manning retired following the 2015 season.
In Week 11, he had the best game of his pro career thus far by going 28-of-33 for 307 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions while leading the Broncos to a blowout win against the Atlanta Falcons.
Nix was rewarded for that stellar performance by being named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week, making him the first Broncos rookie to ever win that award, per Zac Stevens of DNVR Sports.

Denver took Nix with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft after he threw for 4,508 yards, 45 touchdowns and three interceptions while completing 77.4 percent of his pass attempts at the University of Oregon.
His pass completion rate set a new NCAA record for a single season.
Nix didn’t throw his first NFL touchdown pass until Week 4, but he has nine touchdown passes in the past four games with just one interception during that span.
The Broncos have been in quarterback purgatory even since Manning’s retirement, and that was especially evident during their failed experiment with Russell Wilson in 2022 and 2023.
But they now may have their franchise quarterback for the next several years, and right now, they’re firmly in the race for an AFC wild-card playoff spot thanks to his play.
