Rio – Four brothers of the singer Alcione, a great honoree from Mangueira in the early hours of this Tuesday (13), parade together in the open-wing car. A Verde e Rosa tells the story of the artist, going through her first musical steps, still in São Luís, Maranhão, until arriving in Rio and her connection with Morro da Mangueira, in the North Zone of Rio.

Maria Helena Nazareth spoke about the importance of this moment for the family. “We were very happy with this tribute to our sister. We are nervous, but very excited to see this parade,” she said.

Solange Nazareth, producer and sister of the singer, also said she was very pleased with the result of the tribute. The third sister, Ivone Nazareth, also accompanies the family on the wing, as does João Carlos Nazareth.

Fourth to enter the Avenue on the second day of Grupo Especial parades, Estação Primeira de Mangueira, second biggest champion of Carnival, paid homage to one of the greatest icons of the group and the history of MPB with the plot “A Negra Voz do Ajante”.

The honor takes place when Alcione completes 50 years of career. The artist even sang at Mangueira’s “heaten” at the entrance to Avenida.
