Boulder County Sheriff’s Office to host ‘Comedy for a Cause’

The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office will host an adult comedy show, featuring its public information officer Vinnie Montez and other local comedians.

The proceeds will go to families in the sheriff’s department who are experiencing medical challenges.

The comedy show, Comedy for a Cause, will be at 7 p.m. May 24 at the Longmont Elks Lodge, 306 Coffman St. It will feature Montez and two other comedians – Georgia Comstock and John Novosad. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door.

According to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Montez is a Colorado native and grew up in Boulder. With more than 25 years of experience in law enforcement, his experiences as a cop and his Mexican heritage are the foundation of his comedy, according to promotional material for the show. His first comedy special, ‘Armed and Hilarious’ debuted on Dry Bar Comedy online.

Comstock hails from Omaha, Neb., and performs regularly at Comedy Works in Denver. She also participated in national comedy festivals such as the High Plains Comedy Fest and Limestone. Likewise, Novosad, also known as Hippieman, is a stand-up comedian at Comedy Works. He has performed in clubs, theaters and bars across the country for more than 30 years.

Attendees must be 18 years old or older.
