From economic boom to violence – El Financiero

FisheryNuevo León, went from the economic ‘boom’ left by the arrival of transnational companies, to living immersed in violence and insecurity.

The discovery of dozens of bodies last Wednesday revealed the power that criminal groups have in that mayor’s office located about 40 minutes from Monterey.

Just this week it was confirmed that the number of bodies in the ‘clandestine cemetery’ located on the road to Ojo de Agua It rose to 13, after the staff of the Attorney General’s Office reported the new finding.

As if that were not enough, during the night of Thursday an armed attack in the Valle de Santa María neighborhood left a woman dead, another injured, as well as an 11-year-old minor.

The attack occurred in a public square located a few blocks from where a tour of the candidate for federal deputy and licensed mayor, Patricio Lozano, was taking place.

In the midst of the crisis of violence generated by the dispute between criminal groups, the state government withdrew a fixed Civil Force surveillance point in that municipality, leaving the more than 150 thousand inhabitants even more vulnerable.

Even at the beginning of March, Lozano, of PAN extraction, accused the state government of politicizing security.

“The Civil Force base or fixed point withdrew a month ago and we want attention for a better response to all the inhabitants of Pesquería,” Patricio Lozano said at the time.

The claim returned this Thursday from the local Congress.

In the metropolitan area and periphery, of which Pesquería is part, there is a dispute between at least five criminal groups: the Northeast CartelGulf Cartel, Jalisco New Generation Cartel, Sinaloa Cartel, in addition to independent groups.

The ‘deposit of bodies’ in Pesquería

After the discovery of charred bodies, the Nuevo León Attorney General’s Office reported that said place was a point where criminals deposited corpses.

The discovery of the bodies was made just a few hours before the visit of the presidential candidate for Morena, Claudia Sheinbaum, who held a rally on Thursday in the main square of the municipality. From there, she regretted the events.

It is to worry about the situation where the charred bodies were found, said Alfonso Sierra, Secretary of Fisheries Security, in an interview with Formula Group.

He reported on March 22 that the identity of the victims was not yet known.
