As the country basks in some warm weather, it won’t be sufficient compensation for what was, by and large, a pretty rotten summer.
But no matter how unseasonably balmy this week is, there can be no doubting one simple fact: summer is gone, autumn is here and winter isn’t far away. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
