Longmont police are asking the public for help in identifying the driver of a yellow Jeep Wrangler who hit a pedestrian early today on Main Street and 9th Avenue.
At 5:24 a.m. Friday, the driver turned left at the intersection and hit a man on the crosswalk, according to a Longmont Public Safety news release. The driver then fled east on 9th avenue to Weld County Road 1 before driving south on Weld County Road to Colo. 119.
The driver caused the pedestrian to sustain serious injuries. He was transported to a local hospital, according to the release.
Police ask that anyone who can identify the owner of the vehicle or the driver, call Longmont police at 303-651-8501 and reference report no. 23-8518. Police are also asking for surveillance video in the area.
