The Dáil returned with more of a whimper than a bang yesterday. Leinster House was surrounded by the proverbial ring of steel and gardaí were scattered around the vicinity in anticipation of demonstrations that never really came about.
TDs wandered back into the building after more than two months away. Everyone was talking about the general election date. Opinions varied, but the majority believe it’s time for the Taoiseach to rip off the plaster and go to the country.
