At least 10 people were injured in Kiev on Thursday in a Russian airstrike in the center of the Ukrainian capital, local authorities said.

Several explosions resounded in Kiev from 5 am local time (0000 Brasília time), alongside shots from Ukrainian anti-aircraft defense, an AFP correspondent reported.

Air defense forces shot down “three dozen enemy missiles, including ballistic missiles, over Kiev and around the capital,” the city’s military administration announced on Telegram.

The capital’s mayor, Vitali Klitschko, reported that 10 people were injured. “Two were hospitalized. The others were treated at the scene,” he said.

Klitschko also said that debris from the intercepted missiles hit a daycare center and that a residential building and a car caught fire.

The last major Russian attacks on Kiev took place at the end of January. On Wednesday (20), Ukraine and Russia reported attacks from both sides that caused civilian deaths.
