No top-flight starts yet this season for Jake O’Brien and Andrew Omobamidele is a concern from an Irish perspective
It could be called an Irish paradox.
This is a time when so much of the chatter around the direction of the game in Ireland is about funding – the lack of it. It’s a time when a debt-laden FAI are saying they deserve more taxpayers’ money, when a project like the Emerging Talent Programme is cut to save money, and a time when the most successful club of the last decade (Dundalk FC) is on financial life support, having racked up debts of more than €1m.
