One of the most thrilling finishes during the first slate of games in the NFL on Sunday was the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs taking down the division-rival Denver Broncos at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium with a blocked field goal with time expiring in the fourth quarter.
Although the Chiefs were able to come out on top and improve their record to a flawless 9-0, it was far from an easy win for the defending champions, as Patrick Mahomes and company were under siege all day long by the stout Broncos defense.
The pressure was so constant and relentless on Mahomes during this game in Kansas City on Sunday that the superstar quarterback asked one of the officials on the field to let him know when the defender gets close to him, which could be heard clearly on the broadcast and gave the broadcasters a little chuckle because it was a funny moment via ClutchPoints.
“Can you let me know if he’s close?” Mahomes said.

In the two-point win over the Broncos, Mahomes was sacked four times and had to do a lot of scrambling during the game to avoid getting crushed by the defense and to make plays because Sean Payton’s squad wasn’t letting up on arguably the best quarterback in the league.
With their ninth straight win this season in the books, the Chiefs will have a tall task ahead of them next week, going on the road to face Josh Allen and the rival Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium.
