Despite being the only undefeated team left in the NFL, the 2024 campaign has not been kind to the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs, with Andy Reid and company having to figure out ways to keep winning while star players are going down with injuries left and right.
As if losing wide receivers Rashee Rice and Marquise Brown to season-ending injuries wasn’t bad enough for the Chiefs’ offense, the team will now have to push forward without one of the best kickers in the NFL.
According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, kicker Harrison Butker, who became the highest-paid player at his position recently, has gone down with an injury to his left knee, which will likely put him on injured reserve, meaning he’ll miss at least the next four games.
Sources: #Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker is expected to miss 3-4 weeks and is likely headed to injured reserve with a left knee injury.

Even though losing their kicker isn’t like losing superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs will have to pivot once again to keep the offense firing on all cylinders while keeping this team in contention to win what would be an NFL record three straight Super Bowl titles.
Ironically enough, Kansas City will head on the road this weekend to face perhaps their most formidable opponent of the season in the rival Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York.
The Chiefs were already going to be put to the test against Josh Allen and company, but now things have gotten a bit tougher with the absence of Butker, which could change the game if it ends up being two AFC heavyweights trading field goals.
