The New York Knicks are good but some people feel they are not yet great.
The team has a 5-6 record and while they have many positive assets, they also have problems.
For example, DJ on X pointed out that the Knicks’ starting five is allowing 124.1 points per 100 possessions.
That is tied for worst among teams with at least 100 possessions alongside the 2-8 Washington Wizards.

New York’s reliable starting five are Mikal Bridges, Karl-Anthony Towns, OG Anunoby, Jalen Brunson, and Josh Hart.
Those are supremely talented basketball players but they aren’t providing a lot of great defense.
If they wish to return to the playoffs this year and climb higher in the Eastern Conference, the Knicks will need to address this problem as soon as possible.
The team’s defense has been damaged because of two major losses.
Firstly, Mitchell Robinson is still out of commission with an injury and won’t be back for weeks.
Secondly, the team said goodbye to Isaiah Hartenstein, who left the team this summer to join the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Hartenstein had a breakout season last year and wowed all Knicks fans and then promptly left the team, a move that still stings for New York faithful.
Head coach Tom Thibodeau isn’t afraid of making multiple roster changes throughout the season and some people criticize how much he adjusts the lineup.
But perhaps that is needed right now to fix these defensive woes before they put the Knicks in a deep hole.
