The Houston Texans have made a call on star edge-rusher Will Anderson Jr. heading into their game against the Dallas Cowboys on “Monday Night Football.”
The team is going to keep him on the active roster in the hopes of getting him back in a few weeks.
“Plan for Texans Pro Bowl defensive end Will Anderson Jr. (ankle) is to remain on active roster. Recovery from injury suffered against [New York] Jets is going well, per league sources. Hope is to get him back out there next few weeks, priority is stretch run of season in December,” Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston wrote on X.

Texans fans should feel good about this news considering the team views the injury as one that is improving.
Houston has its eyes set on a playoff run, so they are going to need Anderson to be at his healthiest come December and January.
The 2023 Defensive Rookie of the Year already has more sacks (7.5) and tackles for loss (11) than he did in a full season a year ago.
Along with veteran Danielle Hunter, they form one of the best pass-rushing duos in the game.
Though they still lead the AFC South, the Texans have lost two games in a row and three out of four.
They also lost wide receiver Stefon Diggs for the rest of the season with an ACL injury.
It will be up to Hunter and the rest of the defense to carry on without Anderson for the time being as the team looks to prepare for a deeper playoff run than last season.
