Lisa ‘Doesn’t Deserve’ a Place Next to Nicole Kidman and Zoe Saldaña, Critics Target Lisa’s Billionaire Boyfriend

Lisa is one of the biggest stars in K-pop, thanks to Blackpink, one of the top Korean groups worldwide. Together with her members, Jennie, Jisoo, and Rosé, she has taken over the world of music with their rhythmic music and catchy tunes, easily filling huge stadiums with thousands of fans.

But last year, things changed when it came to contract renewal for the K-pop group, as all of them decided to take their solo careers into their own hands. Since then, Lisa has continued to expand her horizons and most recently made history when she performed at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Set to make her acting debut in White Lotus season 3, her incredible feats are the reason she has been included in Vanity Fair’s 2025 The Hollywood Issue.

A rapper, singer, and main dancer of the K-pop group Blackpink, Lisa is one of the most well-known Korean idols across the world. Apart from her constantly shocking and surprising feats with her group, which include several chart-topping hits, awards, world records, and more, Lisa has been tremendously successful in her solo ventures as well.

The singer took a big step last year when she and her fellow members decided not to renew their contracts with their agency, YG Entertainment, for solo activities and launched her own management company, LLOUD (via Forbes). While it was a huge risk, Lisa has consistently proven that she is every bit deserving of the fame and acclaim she has with her feats outside her K-pop group.

From successful brand partnerships to being the most followed female K-pop soloist on Spotify and crossing the one billion streams threshold on the platform as the first K-pop solo artist, Lisa is an unstoppable force (via Life Style Asia). Now set to make her acting debut in the third season of the critically acclaimed White Lotus, it is a no-brainer that Lisa has been chosen among the likes of Nicole Kidman, Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Glen Powell, and more as part of Vanity Fair’s 2025 Hollywood Issue.

Yet, not all fans are happy and some have been allegedly accusing her of using her rumored billionaire boyfriend Frédéric Arnault’s influence to get ahead in her career.

Lisa Accused of Nepotism Following Vanity Fair’s 2025 The Hollywood Issue

Lisa is a successful K-pop artist who has reached where she is today with her own hard work, pure dedication, and persistence. Since we all know how competitive the K-pop industry is, it is challenging to move ahead there without any ‘real’ talent and zeal, and takes an immense amount of courage to survive it.

All this time, the Korean idol hailing from Thailand has done it all with a smile, consistently reaching new heights and avenues with her unrelenting spirit. Yet, many have been accusing her of nepotism following her inclusion in Vanity Fair’s 2025 The Hollywood Issue. According to them, the singer is allegedly using her rumored boyfriend and the current CEO of LVMH Watches Frédéric Arnault’s assistance to get better opportunities in her career.

Following her appearance in The Hollywood Issue with industry names like Nicole Kidman, Glen Powell, Zoe Saldaña, and Bill Skarsgård, this is how the Internet reacted:

Despite the criticism, Lisa has her fair share of defenders, many of whom cannot help but state that the entertainment world did not know much about Frédéric Arnault or his existence until rumors of his relationship with the K-pop star emerged. Even Radhika Jones, the Editor-in-Chief of Vanity Fair, during an interview with CBS Morning Plus, defended the K-pop star by stating that they wanted to introduce her in a new context even though she might not be as famous with the Hollywood audience.

Given the reactions and hate, Lisa has yet to remark on this whole fiasco and has instead been focusing on her career, enjoying this significant career milestone, just as she should!
