The Los Angeles Chargers have quietly impressed a lot of people around the NFL this season, and for the first time in recent memory, they’re building a winning culture and program thanks to new head coach Jim Harbaugh.

With a 6-3 record, they’re firmly in position to claim a playoff spot in the AFC, and they will look to strengthen their record and playoff odds against the Cincinnati Bengals on “Sunday Night Football.”

Pass rusher Joey Bosa has been dealing with a hip injury, but he said his snap count is about to increase.

“Joey Bosa said the plan is for him to play ‘about 30, 30-plus’ snaps on Sunday night. He’s played 20, 19 and 20 snaps in the past three games, respectively,” Daniel Popper of The Athletic wrote on X. “‘I definitely feel like we can bump it up,’ he said.”

While Bosa has long been a capable pass rusher, he has a lengthy injury history, and he hasn’t appeared in at least 10 games since 2021, when he played in 16 contests.

He has played in six games this season and has posted 3.0 sacks, five quarterback hits, three tackles for loss and 10 total tackles (eight solo).

The Chargers offense may be nothing home to write about, partly due to a lack of high-end talent at the skill positions, but they’re winning with defense, and on that side of the football, they’re one of the NFL’s best teams.

They are ranked first in points allowed and have allowed just three rushing touchdowns.

After facing the Bengals, L.A. will play the Baltimore Ravens on “Monday Night Football,” and in Week 13 will visit the two-time defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs, an AFC West rival it has been unable to defeat recently.
