Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim could be handed the dream scenario for his first Premier League match in charge against newly-promoted Ipswich. United confirmed his arrival at the start of November with his tenure officially commencing at the beginning of this week.
During his first few days at the United helm, Amorim has been extremely busy having visited Carrington to meet CEO Omar Berrada and the few United players that remained at the club over the international break. He has also been taken on a tour of Old Trafford with his first interview following shortly after.
Amorim discussed a number of topics there, including his message to supporters, immediate priority and reasons for joining from Sporting CP. A number of players look excited at the idea of working under Amorim, with Manuel Ugarte and Bruno Fernandes among them.

The midfield duo will almost certainly be in his first starting XI with a notable Fernandes boost arriving for Amorim in the lead up to facing Ipswich this Sunday afternoon. While scoring a stunning long-range goal in the 5-1 Nations League win over Poland on Friday evening, Fernandes also picked up a yellow card.
With that as his third booking of the competition, he will miss Monday’s clash against Croatia through suspension and, as such, he has been granted permission to return to United early. In doing so, it means their captain will have at least three more training sessions under Amorim ahead of Sunday’s clash.
Injury boosts have also, seemingly, arrived at the perfect time, with Luke Shaw and Mason Mount returning to training. Summer signing Leny Yoro will also soon be in contention – having returned to outdoor training in late October before taking part in team sessions earlier on this month.
Tyrell Malacia also made his long-awaited return to competitive action in the EFL Trophy for United’s Under-21s against Huddersfield. Exciting talent Sekou Kone, however, appeared to pick up an injury in that clash which will come as a blow having showed off his clear ability.
Nonetheless, the teenager making an impact in the first-team could still be some time away with Amorim’s main priority elsewhere. And the potential injury returns of four key stars, along with more work on the training pitches for Fernandes, could provide Amorim with the perfect week before their trip to Portman Road.
