The Los Angeles Lakers slid past the San Antonio Spurs on Friday night and, once again, Anthony Davis was a major part of the team’s victory.
Davis was a monster and scored 40 points and 12 rebounds on the way to a 120-115 win.
Anyone who has been paying attention to the Lakers this season wasn’t surprised by Davis’ big game.
According to StatMuse, Davis has the most 35-point games so far this season.
He has done that five times, while Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jayson Tatum have done it four times.
Is Davis really having an MVP season like some fans are saying?

Davis is producing 31.1 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game in 2024-25.
He is dominating again and again and playing better than he has in a while, which says a lot.
When he was hired by the Lakers in the summer, head coach JJ Redick suggested that he had big plans for Davis.
He has been adamant about making Davis the center of everything for LA and that’s paying off so far.
LeBron James, Austin Reaves, and others are obviously still vital to the team but nearly all plans and plays rightfully run through Davis.
Unsurprisingly, the Lakers are enjoying one of their best starts in years and are currently 8-4.
Davis has never been named MVP or Defensive Player of the Year but he might be competing for one of them this season.
How many more 35-point games does Davis have coming and what sort of awards and accolades will he earn because of them?
