Vikrant Massey’s film The Sabarmati Report sees him play a journalist who is on a quest to uncover the truth behind the Godhra incident. The film, also starring Riddhi Dogra and Raashii Khanna in key roles was released on November 15.
As per early estimates, it earned Rs 1.25 crore net at the box office. However, it managed to beat the first day collections of Massey’s previous film 12th Fail which earned Rs 1.1 crore on its opening day. The Sabarmati Report revolves around the tragic incident that occurred on the Sabarmati Express on the morning of February 27, 2002, near Godhra station in Gujarat.
A sudden fire broke out in the Sabarmati Express, killing 59 pilgrims and karsevaks who were returning from Ayodhya.
