The Real Housewives of Beverly Hill took the reality television genre by storm when it was released in 2010. It showcased the glamorous lifestyles of a group of very affluent women, as they navigated friendships, family issues, and of course a big plate of dramatic conflicts. When we speak of drama and conflicts, it’s important to give a special mention to Kyle Richards, who’s also the last remaining original cast member of the show.
Along with Richards English television personality Lisa Vanderpump also joined the show in 2010 but abruptly announced in 2019 that she would be leaving the show after nine seasons. And in this Richards and fellow television personality Dorit Kemsley played a huge role.
What Role Did Kyle Richards and Dorit Kemsley Play in Lisa Vanderpump’s RHOBH Exit?
The fourteenth season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is all set to be back on the Bravo screens soon, and fans have a lot to catch up on. But in the meanwhile, they have kept themselves occupied with a lot of hot gossip surrounding the cast, especially Kyle Richards and Dorit Kemsley. In the trailer for the upcoming season, the duo can be seen yelling at each other.
Such a scenario is not very new for the show, as it has a long history of such feuds. However, apart from this the duo also have a very interesting past which resulted in Lisa Vanderpump leaving the show in season 9. Kemsley joined the cast of the show in season 7 and was a close friend of Vanderpump.
But just two seasons later this bond took a major hit when a story leaked in the media about Kemsley giving away a dog named Lucy Lucy Apple Juicy, which she had adopted from Lisa Vanderpump’s animal shelter, Vanderpump Dogs. The story read that Kemsley gave up the dog to someone who instead brought her to a kill shelter.
While Dorit Kemsley was visibly upset by the same, Kyle Richards accused Lisa Vanderpump of leaking the ‘Puppygate’ story to Radar Online. Another cast member Lisa Rinna added that Vanderpump had intentionally leaked the story to turn Kemsley against Richards. Rinna also added:
All Lisa Vanderpump wants to do is punish Dorit about the dog. She can’t do it so she had those boys do it. She doesn’t want to get her hands dirty.
Not just Rinna, but the show’s producer Chris Cullen also added fuel to fire by confirming that Lisa Vanderpump indeed leaked the story. Things became quite heated when Richards confronted Vanderpump, with the latter asking Richards to leave. It was after this that Lisa Vanderpump officially decided to leave the show.
Kathy Hilton Gives an Update on Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky’s Separation
A lot of buzz has been going around the current separation between Kyle Richards and her husband Mauricio Umansky. On the same, her half-sister Kathy Hilton shared with People on what’s happening in Richards’s life at the moment. Hilton added:
I think she’s just taking her time. We just wrapped (RHOBH) a month ago, and so she’s spending a lot of time with her girls.
She also added that despite the current scenario, she does still talk to Umansky and that they are still family, and she wants everyone to get along. This update comes after it was reported in 2023, that the duo has separated. Though they still lived together at the time, The Agency founder has since moved out and shifted to a new place in West Hollywood.
Richards detailed the same on Bitch Bible podcast and added:
I always knew when that day came it would feel strange. Very real all of a sudden. And that’s exactly what happened. I’m used to having a lot of chaos and stuff going around at my house. The day that he moved out was just strange because I came home and I was like, ‘everything’s so quiet.
While the duo seemed to have moved on with their lives, they still need some time to figure out this new phase of life.
