P Diddy’s problems have only been mounting ever since the music producer was accused of some pretty heinous crimes by a multitude of women. This has been further convoluted by Hollywood’s silence on the matter, as there have been rumors that a lot of A-list talent is currently fearful of being exposed.
However, it seems that the artist always had a panache of getting into trouble, such that there were lawsuits against him for some unprofessional behavior, even by his own partners. The artist himself seemed to have been at the center of multiple controversies, long before his Freak Offs were exposed to the public.
Diddy’s business partner filed a lawsuit against him
Kirk Burrowes went on record to say that working with P. Diddy was not easy. Not only did he accuse the celebrity of unprofessional behavior all around, but there was also some issue about Diddy even physically threatening Burrowes over company business.
Burrowes sued Diddy way back in 2003 for threatening him with violence in a bid to give up his shares in Bad Boy Records. The duo had founded the company together, with Burrowes serving as president, until a few years later, when he was fired. Burrowes was removed from the position of President, but allegedly still retained his share in the company. However, he was forced to give them up under duress, as he alleged that Diddy threatened him with violence.
Before Burrowes’ case, Diddy was embroiled in another violent allegation
Before the case against Diddy in 2003, the musician also found himself in some hot water when he had to hand over half a million dollars to Interscope president Stoute. The latter revealed to the LA Times:
Given this history of the musician, there are a lot of things that seem to be on the precipice of being made public. These allegations and cases only add to claims of Diddy being abusive in his professional life, which really spotlight the dark and disturbing things that went on behind the scenes at Bad Boy Records.
Bad Boy Records remains one of the most influential music companies in Hollywood but is far from the only source of income that contributed to the industry mogul’s $600 million net worth (according to Celebrity Net Worth).
Among them is Diddy’s controversial clothing brand called Sean John, which faced a lot of backlash, as there were reports of Honduran labor laws being violated, along with alleged use of raccoon dog fur in their products. Apart from this, the rapper dabbled in miner water brands, restaurants, and alcohol, all of which dropped the rapper after his scandal, as reported by Vulture.
Apart from all these businesses, Diddy has also heavily invested in real estate, buying a mansion in 1998. While flipping houses all over the United States, the rapper would rant out this mansion for six-figure numbers, before finally selling it in 2020.
