The New England Patriots entered the season with more questions than answers.
The only certainty they had – or hoped to have – was that Drake Maye was the most crucial aspect of their project.
Whether he would end up being their quarterback in the future was anybody’s guess, but they were bound to do everything they could to ensure that it was the case.
Notably, they decided not to roll with him to start the season.
Not only wasn’t he ready to play in the NFL, but his offensive line also left plenty to be desired.
Maye has made big strides both on and off the field.
His play gives the team the best chance to win, and he also shows impressive leadership skills.
As reported by Mike Reiss (via Savage), Maye and his offensive linemen have started what they hope would be a new tradition.
Drake Maye plans on taking the offense line out for dinner every Monday night:

Apparently, they will now go to dinner every Monday night, with the rookie quarterback picking up the tab.
This might seem like a small gesture, but it can go a long way with his teammates.
A quarterback’s best friend will always be the guy in front of him, and teams need to develop chemistry to play for themselves and one another.
The Patriots won’t win many more games this season, but this was far from a wasted year, and they have to be very happy about the player and person they have on their hands right now.
