Kishimoto Forgot His Worst Mistake in Naruto That Proved One Piece Will Always Be Better

From worldbuilding to character designs, Kishimoto notched up his series in more ways than one. Apart from being one of the Big 3 of Shonen, Naruto isn’t exempt from follies.

This is especially true in terms of its side characters as well as plot inconsistencies. What fans thought was a crucial lore to the manga was reduced to a plot hole.

Redditors discussed one of the major flaws in the manga that left several mysteries unanswered. On top of that, it had most fans racking their brains about the lore.

While the series tops the charts in terms of its compelling storyline, it faltered along the lines of these inconsistencies. This also leaves us with the bigger question regarding One Piece having an upper hand over the manga.

Redditors point to a major blunder in Kishimoto’s series

Two decades back, Kishimoto gave us one of the iconic ninja stories of all time. Besides its Big 3 status, the series continues to impact millions of readers and viewers. Both manga and anime have a worldwide fanbase and cult popularity.

On top of that, it was one of the very first series to be legalized by Crunchyroll. Interestingly, though, the series has its fair share of criticism along with the positive reception. Though we have barely scratched the surface with this one.

Be it pacing or female characters, the series has been at the epicenter of criticism and controversy. This holds with the plot inconsistencies within the story, including the lore and legends in the series.

One of the biggest foreshadowings in the manga was during the Sasuke Retrieval Arc. The battle at the Valley of the End hinted at both characters being reincarnations of Indra and Ashura. And while the mangaka revisited this in Shippuden, he made a major blunder with this theory.

Redditors pointed to the major plothole centered around both characters. This also raises questions regarding the theory of reincarnation.

The reincarnation theory left several questions unanswered in the series. It is more of a plothole with several inconsistencies, especially with Madara’s survival. This, however, isn’t the sole instance where the mangaka left mysteries unsolved.

From Hashirama’s cells to Orochimaru’s undoing the Reaper Death Seal, the series has more plotholes than one might think. Which brings us to the bigger question here. Does One Piece have the upper hand against its rival?

Does One Piece have an upper hand against Naruto ?

To say One Piece is popular would be an understatement considering its cultural impact and worldwide influence. From its world-building to character designs, it peaks in most aspects, especially its storytelling. Eiichiro Oda’s backbreaking efforts ensured the series’ success.

But it isn’t the popularity or high ratings that are attributed to its recipe of success. Like most of its contemporaries, Oda’s manga is fallible in several aspects. On top of that, it had its fair share of criticism and censure. But it most certainly has an upper hand against Naruto in this aspect.

Oda prioritizes the plot along with the characters in his series. The series is remarkable in terms of its diversity, especially with characters and world-building. He notches it up with his portrayal of realism in the series.

Be it politics or religion, the mangaka doesn’t shy away from controversial topics. That, however, doesn’t give the series an upper hand against its rival. Both are evenly matched in terms of diversity and versatility. Like most Shonen manga, both falter in terms of their plot inconsistencies.

From Pell’s survival to Madara’s reincarnation, both series are on par with each other. As for the upper hand, both balance out each others’ flaws perfectly.

Naruto and One Piece are available for streaming on Crunchyroll. Both manga are available for reading on Viz Media.
