Northern Ireland can seal Nations League promotion when they face Luxembourg tonight.
Only the side finishing top of Group C3 will go straight up to League B, with the second-placed nation earning their spot in a promotion play-off.
As it stands, Northern Ireland lead the way on 10 points and will be promoted as long as they avoid defeat at Stade de Luxembourg or if Bulgaria do not beat Belarus in the other game in the group.
Since losing to Bulgaria on matchday two, Michael O’Neill’s side have hit form at the perfect time and not only go into tonight’s game on the back of a 2-0 win over Belarus but they haven’t conceded a goal in their last three.
When the two sides met in Belfast in September, Northern Ireland were 2-0 winners thanks to two goals in five minutes from Paddy McNair and Daniel Ballard.
