Jimmy Fallon & Jon Hamm Recreate ‘With Arms Wide Open’ Video: Watch

Jimmy Fallon and Jon Hamm? More like Scott Stapp times two.

The Mad Men actor was a guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon recently, where the duo reminisced on the time that they “used to be Creed.”

“We were the lead singer of the band Creed,” Hamm noted, before Fallon recalled, “We did that one music video together on the Scottish glen.”

A flashback then took place, in which both Hamm and Fallon rock frontman Stapp’s long brown locks and yellow jacket he wore in the 1999 music video for Creed’s hit, “With Arms Wide Open.” The two take turns belting the lyrics amid a vast green landscape, hitting the triumphant chorus — and deeply embracing each other in the process — by singing, “With arms wide open under the sunlight/ Welcome to this place, I’ll show you everything.”

Creed recently wrapped up their 40-date reunion tour, marking their first time hitting the road together in over a decade. “I feel like I’m as strong as I’ve ever been vocally, and looking forward to sharing the stage with the guys again,” Stapp said in a statement at the time of the gig’s announcement. “The fans have clearly let us know they feel it’s long overdue. I want to give them what they deserve. I’m ready to bring it.”

As a group, Creed has notched hits including “One,” “Higher,” “My Sacrifice” and, of course, “With Arms Wide Open.” Their 1999 sophomore album, Human Clay, has sold 11.7 million copies to date, according to Luminate.
