Yet, as time passed, it seemed like the feud between these two giants might eventually fade into the background. But according to Cassie Ventura, one of Diddy’s former flames, the tension between these two powerhouses was far from over—even years later.
What started as a war of words eventually escalated, with Ventura revealing that Diddy once allegedly arrived armed, intent on settling his ongoing rivalry with Knight once and for all.
Diddy, Suge Knight, and the Showdown That Almost Was
Diddy’s ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, in her lawsuit against Sean Combs, has detailed several instances where she claimed the mogul caused her significant trauma. And one of the most shocking moments came when he allegedly armed himself for a final showdown with Suge Knight, his “longtime rival”.
According to court documents, this wasn’t just a passing moment of rage—it was a real, dangerous escalation (via Allhiphop):
On one occasion when Mr. Combs and Ms. Ventura were using drugs together in his home, one of his security staff barged in and announced that Suge Knight—a longtime rival of Mr. Combs—was spotted at Mel’s Drive-In Diner in Los Angeles. Mr. Combs began to get dressed, retrieved multiple guns from a safe and ran out of his home to where he believed Mr. Knight was dining.
As Diddy geared up to confront Knight, his former head of security, Roger Bonds, recalled the chaotic moments leading up to it.
According to Bonds, Diddy wasn’t just planning to show up and talk. “So Puff gathers up the things that he’s gotta gather up, and he pulls up. He comes in the black Cadillac,” Bonds told Vlad TV, adding:
Puff said, ‘Let’s end this s*** right now.’
Thankfully, Diddy’s security team urged him to reconsider, and they turned back before the situation could escalate further. However, while he narrowly avoided a violent confrontation that day, his legal troubles are far from over. The 55-year-old rapper is currently facing serious charges, including s*xual assault and s*x trafficking.
Knight, meanwhile, is serving a 28-year sentence for a fatal hit and run.
Diddy Shocked by Suge Knight’s Insult: The Start of a Bitter Feud
The bad blood between Diddy and Suge Knight didn’t develop overnight. In the mid-90s, the former was already making a name for himself as the head of Bad Boy Records, working with the likes of The Notorious B.I.G. and Faith Evans. But despite his success behind the scenes, he wasn’t content just being a power player; he wanted to be the star.
