Over the past few years, the Cincinnati Bengals have been one of the most talented teams in the NFL, with superstar quarterback Joe Burrow leading the way when he’s healthy.
Fortunately for Cincinnati, Burrow has been mostly healthy this season, which many believed would bode well for the team, but after Week 11’s loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, a battle from start to finish, the Bengals are sporting a 4-7 record, with their chances of making the NFL playoffs starting to dwindle.
There’s no question that the Bengals are incredibly talented on the offensive side of the football, as the team can seemingly keep up with any other offense in the league with Burrow under center and superstar wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase downfield, but the team hasn’t been able to close games, resulting in seven losses.
After the devastating loss to the Chargers, which came down to the wire on Sunday night, Marcus Spears believes their hopes of making the playoffs have come to an end via NFL on ESPN.
“I firmly believe they are done,” Spears said. “They’re too far down the totem pole at this point.”

There’s still a chance the Bengals could win their final six games of the 2024 NFL regular season and squeeze into a playoff spot in the AFC, but everything would have to go right from here on out.
However, there’s still hope in Cincinnati, even though chances of being playoff-bound are slim moving forward.
