Rumours are already swirling about the potential business that may be conducted in Ruben Amorim’s first transfer window as Manchester United’s new head coach.
Amorim was confirmed as Erik ten Hag’s replacement in the Old Trafford dugout earlier this month, and will officially take charge of his first match away at Ipswich Town next Sunday. The 39-year-old will be tasked with helping United climb the Premier League table before the New Year.
It remains to be seen what players, if any, United will target during the January transfer window. Some of the latest reports, though, suggest that United will face competition from one of their bitter rivals.
Italian news outlet Calciomercato are reporting that United are showing an interest in signing AC Milan forward Christian Pulisic. The report claims that the Reds are set to battle Liverpool for the United States international’s signature, with West Ham also supposedly in the running.

Pulisic joined Milan from Chelsea in the summer of 2023, but just 18 months later is being tipped to leave the San Siro. It has also been claimed that, even though Milan would not want to sanction Pulisic’s exit, it has been hinted that the Italian club’s asking price could be in excess of €60million (£50million).
Pulisic plays on the right wing for Milan and has scored seven goals with five assists so far this season. United have Amad and Antony who can perform in Pulisic’s role, while Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford are also wide forward options.
Amorim will begin assessing his inherited squad at United this week when the remainder of the squad return from international duty. It remains to be seen what areas of the squad Amorim and Co. will want to strengthen when the transfer window opens in the New Year.
