The Sabarmati Report Witnesses a Jump at The Box Office

The Sabarmati Report is holding its ground at the box office despite a mellow opening. The film starring Vikrant Massey, Raashii Khanna and Riddhi Dogra brings forth an important story about a crucial incident in India’s history. The Sabarmati Report sustained well over the weekend.

The film opened with a collection of 1.69 crore on Friday, followed by 2.62 crore on Saturday (Day 2), and demonstrated its strong presence on Sunday (Day 3) by collecting 3.74 crore. This marks an impressive 44% jump on Sunday. The film now stands at a total of 8.05 crore for the weekend.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also praised the film for showcasing the Godhra incident. The Sabarmati Report revolves around the tragic incident that occurred on the Sabarmati Express on the morning of February 27, 2002, near Godhra station in Gujarat. A sudden fire broke out in the Sabarmati Express, killing 59 pilgrims and karsevaks who were returning from Ayodhya.
