Having already established itself on our best Black Ops 6 loadouts list, the KSV has become a popular meta pick. Thanks to its fast fire rate, reload quickness, and swap speed, the Black Ops 6 KSV innately excels over its classmates in a few key metrics in the FPS game. These stats also lend themselves nicely to snappy Overkill-based class setups such as the ones we lay out below for both BO6 multiplayer and Warzone.
How to unlock the KSV in Black Ops 6
The KSV is unlocked by reaching player level 7. The KSV becoming usable so early on in a Black Ops 6 Prestige is great news if you’re trying to save your permanent unlock tokens for something juicier.
Best Black Ops 6 KSV loadout
- Muzzle: Ported Compensator
- Barrel: Long Barrel
- Underbarrel: Ranger Foregrip
- Magazine: Fast Mag II
- Fire Mods: Rapid Fire
This decked-out KSV hits like a truck without compromising on control. Starting at the nose, we have the Ported Compensator – a firm favorite muzzle of ours due to the first bullet accuracy and vertical recoil control it provides. If you prefer a stealthier approach, swap it for the Suppressor. Shimmying along, we have the Long Barrel. While SMGs aren’t designed to be used in long or even medium-distance combat, the Long Barrel at least gives the KSV a fighting chance beyond the ten-meter mark by improving its effective range substantially.
Shifting to the underside of the KSV, we have the Ranger Foregrip. This not only improves the gun’s horizontal recoil control but also gives you an extra injection of sprint speed. It’s the final underbarrel attachment you unlock for the KSV, so we’d recommend using the Vertical Foregrip until you can use it.
For the magazine, you have two really great options in the Flip Mag and Fast Mag II. While the Flip Mag improves your reload speed, the Fast Mag II drops five rounds from the magazine in return for a bump in both ADS and sprint to fire speed. As far as we’re concerned, a slightly smaller mag is always worth an improved chance to shoot first. Finally, slap on the Rapid Fire mod to boost the KSV’s TTK and the build is complete.

To ensure you’re always on demon time in the movement department, grab yourself the Stim Shot for your Tactical, then lock in the Drill Charge as your Lethal to help create chaos in closed spaces and clear out campers. The Tactical Insertion is our preferred Field Upgrade here thanks to the rat-tier strats it enables.
Perk-wise, we’ve gone with the tried and tested trio of Gung-ho, Assassin, and Double Time to open up access to Enforcer. This lineup will keep you on the move, and provide all the buffs you could need as a SMG speedster.
While the equipment for this class setup lends itself to a run ‘n gun playstyle in close-quarters combat, you can easily switch to a Recon-oriented perk trio if you want to use the KSV as a secondary weapon in a sniper build. 
Best Warzone KSV loadout

With its rapid fire rate and innate mobility, the KSV is the perfect candidate for a sniper support weapon that doesn’t need to compromise on power. Kicking off at the front end we’ve got the Long Barrel to push the KSV towards that close-mid-range sweet spot that a sniper won’t be able to effectively scratch.
For grips, we have the Ranger Foregrip and the Ergonomic Grip. The former helps get the KSV’s recoil under control while adding a burst of sprint speed, while the latter improves mobility across the board. If you’re not fussed about ADS’ing with the KSV, then swap the CQB Grip in for the Ergonomic Grip instead.
As you’re going to most likely be fighting multiple hostiles at once, ensure you’re not permanently reloading with the Extended Mag II. Finally, for the stock… there is no stock. Seriously, the No Stock option provided further bolsters your movement, turning you into a Flash cosplayer.
Best Warzone KSV class build

As we’re providing an Overkill sniper support build here, the KSV is being matched up with the trusty LR 7.62. With the best LR 7.62 loadout you’ll be able to one-tap enemies in the head, chest, and arm comfortably – no pressure to land your shots or anything.
As you’re going to be constantly on the move, dipping in and out of combat when using the KSV, the Stim Shot remains the Tactical choice. Lethal-wise, you’re good to go with preference – ours is the classic Semtex.
For perks, Dexterity will help you keep your aim stable while diving about, Sprinter lets you sprint around permanently, and Alertness gives you the heads up if there are enemies nearby or if you’re being targeted.
If you’re prioritizing sniping then sub Dexterity out for Veteran when the sniping-focused perk arrives as part of the Hit List event (more on that in our BO6 events guide). If you’re fearless, then we’d also recommend giving Tempered a go instead of Alertness. It’ll let you max your armor with one less plate, getting you back into the fray more quickly.
Best Black Ops 6 KSV alternatives
While the KSV has continued to assert itself as a powerful meta pick, the C9 is still a fantastic alternative if you are attached to the classic MP5 profile.
