What is the best Model L loadout for Black Ops 6 and Warzone? Looking at the Model L you’d be forgiven for thinking there isn’t anything special there; a no-frills assault rifle, it looks like it may have outlived its usefulness, even in a game set in the 90s. Well, think again. The Model L – especially with our loadout – is a fast-firing mid-range demon, and can take entire teams out in the blink of an eye.
Quickly finding itself on our Black Ops 6 best loadouts list, the Model L should be an instrument in everyone’s locker, especially in Black Ops 6 maps with mid-range sight lines and long corridors. We’ve opted to completely kit out the assault rifle with the Gunfighter Wildcard – both in multiplayer and Warzone – creating a Black Ops 6 weapon that can take on all comers.
How to unlock the Model L
The Model L is unlocked at level 40, which is around the mid-point of your Black Ops 6 prestige journey. You should already be comfortable with assault rifles at this point, meaning you can get the most out of this supremely accurate firearm.

With our loadout, we managed to have our cake and eat it too. Not only is the lethality of the Model L dramatically increased with the inclusion of the Rapid Fire mod, but with the addition of the Ported Compensator, Reinforced Barrel, and Vertical Foregrip, the increase in recoil is non-existent. This thing shoots like a laser beam, taking out anything unfortunate enough to be in your sights.
We keep the ADS speed snappy with the inclusion of the Quickdraw Grip, and the Balanced Stock makes sure that we’re mobile even when aiming down sights. Extended Mag I is in place so we can stay in fights for longer without having to reload – vital for taking on multiple assailants. As always, the optic is down to personal preference, but we like the solid nature of the Ridwell Reflex, it matches the rugged nature of the Model L perfectly.

With the Model L performing best in the mid-range and in situations where you are holding ground, so we’ve opted for several pieces of equipment that will allow you to control points on the map. The Molotov is a great area-denial tool, and the Trophy System keeps enemy throwables away from you and yours. The Recon set of perks will allow you to gain a snapshot of any nearby opponents when spawning, which should help you create a plan of attack.

Similarly to our BO6 multiplayer loadout, we’ve opted to kit the Model L out with a full Gunfighter attachment suite. As it will serve you in both CQB and from afar, we’re kicking things off with the Hawker Hybrid. It’s not necessarily the cleanest 3x, but its ability to quickly switch to iron sights offers amazing flexibility.
Though we’re typically fans of the Ported Compensator, the raw recoil control offered by the Compensator is too good to pass up. As you’ll notice from the Vertical Foregrip and Recoil Springs inclusions, stability is crucial to making the Model L an all-range beamer.
For the barrel, we’ve gone for the Reinforced Barrel. The bonus damage range and extra bullet velocity ensure you can cleave through mid-long-range targets in just five body shots, even at 100 meters. As you’ll be burning through rounds, especially in full squad firefights, the Extended Mag II will ensure you always have enough juice in the chamber.
Finally, to give the Model L’s mobility a much-needed kick, slap on the Ergonomic Grip and the Balanced Stock. You aren’t going to be zooming around like an SMG player, but it’s enough to keep you moving.

We’ve gone a bit rogue with our Model L class setup, but seeing as you’ll theoretically never run dry of rounds in a firefight because of its extended mag, this frees up the opportunity to take a launcher instead of a sidearm. And with said launcher, the HE-1 in this case, it increases the value of Grenadier when tied together with a trusty Frag grenade in the Lethal slot.
The Tactical slot, meanwhile, is largely down to personal preference. We’ve had some success with the Snapshot Grenade in squads, though if you can’t go without your Stim Shot etc. then lock that in instead.
We’ve already made our case for Grenadier, so let’s talk about the other two perks we’re setting the Model L up with – Quick Fix and Alertness. Quick Fix is a huge boon for keeping yourself healthy in hectic fights, while Alertness can give you a heads-up when it’s time to switch the Hawker Hybrid to iron sights. The latter will also keep you abreast of when your natural predator, the sniper, is locking on.
Best Black Ops 6 Model L alternatives
If you want something a bit more aggressive than the Model L, we suggest giving the AS Val a try. The AS Val is a fast-firing, silenced assault rifle, and if you use our best Black Ops 6 AS Val loadout, you’ll find success in taking the fight to the enemy, as well as defending what you already have.
That is our best Black Ops 6 Model L loadout. If you want to remove the Gunfighter Wildcard and go for something like Overkill instead, we recommend pairing it with something like our best Black Ops 6 Jackal PDW loadout.
