When Bill Belichick left the New England Patriots, many people assumed that he was going to take a coaching job somewhere else.
After all, he is recognized as one of the greatest coaches in league history and could provide a lot of knowledge and insight to a new organization.
Despite being linked to a few teams, Belichick didn’t end up with a coaching gig to start the 2024 season.
Instead, Belichick has been quite busy with the media, not only getting opportunities from a network perspective but he’s had a chance to appear on the ManningCast and is a staple of Pat McAfee’s show.
Belichick’s personality has been on display for one of the first times in his career, and many have walked back some of their takes about the legendary coach.
His reputation for being hard on players has somewhat softened, and he’s become much more likable to the general public.
With that in mind, Belichick might still want to coach, even though he’s found great success in other ways.
Dianna Russini, for example, recently took to X to talk about the Jacksonville Jaguars, who could be in the market for a new coach in 2025.
While she did mention that the Jaguars could be a destination for Belichick, Russini also indicated that GM Trent Baalke might not want to get a deal done.
As we wait to find out what the Jaguars do next, keep in mind Bill Belichick wants to be a head coach again and the Jaguars should be viewed as a potential destination.
I’m told it’s highly unlikely that a partnership with GM Trent Baalke would take place, per sources.— Dianna Russini (@DMRussini) November 18, 2024
Trevor Lawrence, while a former top prospect, has had a tough time keeping a head coach around.
Would someone like Belichick help him take that next step forward in his career?
