Amario Cozier-Duberry is aiming to be back available for this weekend’s clash with Portsmouth at Ewood Park.
The Brighton loanee has not featured since the defeat at Plymouth over a month ago after picking up an ankle problem.
Cozier-Duberry admitted the timing of the injury was frustrating just as he was starting to show glimpses of what he can offer this season.
“It was quite disappointing to get the injury when I did, but I am slowly coming back,” he told RoversTV.
“I am nearly there now, I am thankful to the staff for helping me get back as soon as possible.
“(The break) has come at a good time because I can kick on now. Hopefully, I will be available for the next game.
“It is football and injuries come, I just have to kick on with my rehab and can’t really dwell on it for too long.”
The 19-year-old felt he was heading in the right direction before picking up the injury and is hungry to get a run of games under his belt in the Championship.
“I was quite pleased, I felt like I had made a good impression so far. I just want to kick on from that and go from there,” he continued.
“I think there is more coming from myself, I want to show what I can do. That is the next step, to be starting games in the Championship and give as much as I can.”
Heading to Rovers has been a big change for Cozier-Duberry, both on and off the pitch, as he adjusts to life up North.
“It has been good, the staff and players are very helpful,” the winger smiled.
“They have been very supportive and always ask me how I am getting on, or if I need help with this or that. I am grateful for that, I feel like I have settled in quite smoothly.
“I am living by myself now so it is definitely a big life change, but I feel like I am dealing with it quite well. It doesn’t really phase me.
“I like having a lot of space to myself, but the most challenging part so far is learning to cook! It has been pasta and chicken really, they are the easiest things to make.”
The games come thick and fast again heading towards the Christmas period, and Cozier-Duberry is embracing the challenges ahead.
The youngster has been encouraged by Rovers’ start to the season and hopes they can kick on in the coming weeks.
“(The experience) will benefit me quite a lot moving forward and as I get older, I will take what I learn here wherever I go,” he reflected.
“There are a lot of games in the Championship and I am looking forward to it. I can’t wait to hopefully get a run of games and show what I can do.
“It is exciting because there are so many games, you can’t really dwell on the game before. I am enjoying it, even watching the games.
“I think we have started well. We all just want to kick on, continue to do what we are doing and hopefully even more.”
