Princess Charlotte has always been thought to be her mother, Kate Middleton’s twin. However, those longstanding rumors are now debunked after a series of viral photos shows just how striking a resemblance Charlotte has to her father, Prince William.
Princess Charlotte’s striking resemblance to Prince William unveiled
Princess Charlotte has always been thought to most resemble her mother, Kate Middleton. As Charlotte matures, she appears to have adopted many of Kate’s mannerisms and looks similar to her mother.
However, a new viral set of side-by-side photographs appears to show otherwise. In a post on X, a royal fan shared images of Prince William and his daughter. The photos demonstrate the Prince of Wales’ genes are way stronger than Kate’s when it comes to his daughters’ striking good looks.
Four photos of Charlotte at different ages were placed next to images of William posing in the same manner. Their resemblance to each other is uncanny.
Prince George also resembles his father, and it was always believed Charlotte looked most like Kate. But it appears that the Spencer/Windsor genes are strong, appearing in the faces of all three of William’s offspring.
A source told People Magazine Kate believes her youngest child, Prince Louis, looks just like her. “Everyone always comments on how Louis is the spitting image of Kate. She loves it and thinks it’s very sweet, she often jokes that he’s the only one of her kids who looks like her!”
Royal watchers took to X to comment on the series of images that demonstrate just how much Princess Charlotte looks like Prince William. Thus, they agree the similarities between father and daughter are uncanny.
“She is a gorgeous daddy’s girl,” wrote one follower. A second penned, “Wow, uncanny.”
A third royal watcher subsequently claimed, “Got our very much missed Queen’s eyes I think.” A fourth wrote, “Same eyes and mouth. Must have Catherine’s nose.”
However, a final social media user believes Charlotte resembles a different royal family member altogether. “I think she looks like Princess Margaret,” they penned.

In 2022, a series of images released by Glamis Castle Scotland to honor the royal family were released. Glamis Castle was the childhood home of the Queen Mother and the birthplace of Princess Margaret, Queen Elizabeth’s sister, birthplace.
However, the castle’s official Instagram page shared their views regarding the uncanny likeness between Princess Charlotte and Elizabeth, the Queen Mother in a caption. “The youngest daughter of the 14th Earl of Strathmore, Lady Elizabeth Bowes Lyon, married the Duke of York and became Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother,” the caption began.
“When our castle archivist was looking at photographs of a young Lady Elizabeth below, we all agreed that there is a striking familial resemblance with her great-great-granddaughter, Princess Charlotte. Can you see the resemblance, too?” it asked.
Princess Charlotte is Prince William and Kate Middleton’s only daughter. She is third in line for the throne behind her father, Prince William, and brother, Prince George.
