The New York Giants more than once chose Daniel Jones over Saquon Barkley.

They’ve decided to bench him in favor of undrafted QB Tommy DeVito.

Saquon Barkley is wreaking havoc with the Philadelphia Eagles not so far from MetLife Stadium.

So far, he’s rushed for league-leading 1,347 yards.

He also leads the league in rush attempts (197) and rushing yards per game (113.7).

He’s also hauled 23 receptions on 29 targets for 210 receiving yards and ten total touchdowns (8 rush, two passes).

That’s why Louis Riddick believes he might even redefine the market for the position in the future.

On ESPN’s “Get Up,” he argued that people often discussed running backs as disposable and afterthoughts.

After observing Barkley’s performance, it’s clear that Giants’ GM Joe Schoen will surely regret his choice to let Barkley go.

Moreover, with players like Jahmyr Gibbs also dominating with the Detroit Lions, it’s clear that getting a running back in the first round makes sense.

Riddick argues that the best teams having the best running backs isn’t coincidental, and it’s time the market deals with them as such.

Running backs have to run, catch, block, and protect, and while the wear and tear it takes on their bodies causes them to have shorter careers, it’s only fitting they start getting compensated as such.

There aren’t many teams in the league that wouldn’t be much better with players like Barkley, Gibbs, or Derrick Henry in their backfields.
