For many weeks, people wondered if the Kansas City Chiefs would ever lose a game, as the Chiefs won each of their first nine contests and always seemed to get lucky when they needed to.

But on Sunday, the Buffalo Bills managed to end Kansas City’s undefeated streak by achieving a 30-21 win behind some clutch play from quarterback Josh Allen.

On the surface, the loss for the Chiefs could be seen as a routine blip on the radar and a loss to a team that may be a legitimate Super Bowl contender and now has a six-game winning streak.

But former NBA star Paul Pierce said on Fox Sports 1’s “Speak” that the Chiefs actually should be concerned since they have been barely winning games and because quarterback Patrick Mahomes hasn’t played up to his standards.

Some would say that this was the case last season when Kansas City suffered from substandard wide receiver play and Mahomes had a down year by his standards.

But things could be a little different this time around.

No one in the NFL has thrown more interceptions than Mahomes has, and he has just 15 touchdown passes in 10 games, which is very underwhelming for him.

Once again, Kansas City isn’t getting plenty of production from their skill players, and two of their best ones — wide receiver Rashee Rice and running back Isiah Pacheco — have been out for a while due to injury.

However, their defense has been rock solid when needed, and that defense could carry them once again to the Vince Lombardi Trophy, which would be their third in a row.
