The Dallas Cowboys aren’t what one would consider a contending team right now.

If anything, they’re not even a borderline playoff-caliber team.

Their struggles at home have been worse than on the road, particularly on offense.

As shown by Yahoo Sports on X, they’ve scored a combined 25 points in their last three games at home.

This is far from a surprise.

The Cowboys didn’t address any of their needs in the offseason.

They didn’t solve their running game or go after a big-name running back.

Their offensive line got worse, they didn’t pursue any other reliable pass-catcher to line up opposite CeeDee Lamb, and they didn’t improve on defense, either.

This team has the same issues it showed last season, only worse.

Head coach Mike McCarthy deserves plenty of the blame, but it’s not like he could’ve done anything else.

Jerry Jones is in full control of the team.

They’re also in a tough spot, salary cap-wise.

If they extend Micah Parsons, they’ll commit almost 50% of their cap to him, Lamb, and Dak Prescott, so their chances of fixing their roster are pretty slim.

They definitely need a coaching change, but nothing will change unless they hire someone who can challenge Jerry Jones and set some boundaries.
