Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise met on the sets of the film, Days of Thunder, in 1989 and got married in 1990. It was definitely a career-best time for the actress but she revealed that she couldn’t enjoy it due to her divorce from Tom Cruise at the time.
In Dave Krager’s book 50 Oscar Nights, Kidman opened up about her struggles in her personal life when she won the Oscar for The Hours. She shared, “I was struggling with things in my personal life, yet my professional life was going so well” (via In Style). Kidman shared that she was in no mood to attend Vanity Fair’s Oscar afterparty at the time, but she was convinced by everyone to go.
She shared that she didn’t want to walk through the party carrying the award. The Babygirl actress shared, “That just feels like gloating, and it doesn’t feel humble.” However, others convinced her that it was something all winners do. When she attended the party, Kidman shared that she was overwhelmed by the celebrations, especially considering her sad circumstances. She shared:

Nicole Kidman started dating Lenny Kravitz in 2003. During a 2007 interview with Vanity Fair, she revealed that she had been secretly engaged to someone. In 2005, she met her now-husband Keith Urban. The country singer married the Perfect Couple actress in June 2006. During a 2015 interview with The Daily Telegraph, Kidman revealed that divorcing Cruise was the best thing that happened to her. She shared that she had a great relationship with Urban, sharing, “We didn’t really know each other – we got to know each other during our marriage.”
Urban credited her with helping him overcome his struggles with alcohol addiction. The couple’s first daughter was born in 2008 and they welcomed their second daughter in 2010.
