Before her stunning performance of the satirical TikTok hit, Man in Finance, Julianne Hough took the stage with co-host and the Dancing with the Stars season 19 winner Alfonso Ribeiro.
During the segment, Hough humorously brought up her single status, joking about her search for love. “Yeah, the guys. Well, you know, I am single and I’m looking for a guy anywhere I can find one,” she quipped, as per US Weekly.
Her co-host, joined in on the fun, adding, “If you’d like a date, text Julianne’s first name. Message and data rates may apply.” A smiling Hough, however, shut down the playful suggestion, as she clarified, “That won’t work, please don’t do that.”
The witty exchange led to Hough’s surprise performance of Man in Finance, to its cheeky lyrics: “I’m looking for a man in finance / Trust fund, 6’5, blue eyes.” Hough’s candid remarks follow previous comments where she reflected on her love life.
Five years after publicly revealing she doesn’t identify as straight, and following her divorce from her husband of three years, she shared that she still believes she will ultimately find love with a man.
Julianne Hough Reflected on Possibly Ending up With a Man Five Years After Coming Out as Not Straight
Julianne Hough opened up about her sexuality in the September 2019 profile for Women’s Health. She shared how her ex-husband Brooks Laich was surprised when she told him, “You know I’m not straight, right?”
“And he was like, ‘I’m sorry, what?’” She recalled his reaction before affirming, “I’m not. But I choose to be with you.” Soon after publicly discussing her sexuality, the couple split, filing for divorce in 2020, which was finalized in 2022.
However, five years after coming out as “not straight,” Hough recently expressed that she believes that she would ultimately end up with a man. In an appearance on Jamie Kern Lima Show, Hough reflected on her quest for love, noting, “I feel like I’m going to end up with a man.” She further shared during the conversation,
I want to be living and vibrating in the pace of my most authentic self for that to be what attracts whoever it is versus I’m gonna put what I think I want and need out there and then literally force-create it.
Hough also revealed that while she is open to love, she isn’t actively seeking it. “My heart is open, I’m ready for it, but I’m not actively looking for anything,” she told People in a recent interview. The actress also admitted that though she longs for romance, dating is not a current priority for her, as she wants to focus on pursuing her passion.
