After suffering through lots of substandard quarterback play, the New York Giants finally made a change at the position by benching Daniel Jones and replacing him with Tommy DeVito.

DeVito started six games last season after Jones was sidelined with a torn ACL, and during that time, he led the team to an unexpected three-game winning streak while briefly taking the Tri-state area by storm.

Star defensive lineman Dexter Lawrence said that he trusts the decision made by head coach Brian Daboll and will do his best no matter who is under center, per Art Stapleton.

At 2-8, the Giants have the worst record in the NFC, and it looks like big changes could be in store for them this offseason, at least at the QB position.

Jones has failed to make any noticeable or significant improvement in his game or production since he entered the NFL in 2019, and in fact, his numbers have declined since his rookie year.

As a rookie, he threw for a decent 3,027 yards and 24 touchdowns in 13 games, but he hasn’t been able to duplicate that type of production since.

So far this year, he’s at 2,070 passing yards, eight passing touchdowns and seven interceptions, and he has completed just 63.3 percent of his pass attempts.

Giants fans wish the team had given Jones’ four-year, $160 million contract extension to star running back Saquon Barkley instead, and this decision likely led to Barkley departing in free agency this past offseason.

The hope is now that New York will be able to draft a true franchise signal-caller in the upcoming draft.
