Diablo 4 Hasn’t Seen So Many Bugs Since Season of the Malignant and Everyone Including Dupers Are Making the Most of It

Diablo 4‘s Vessel of Hatred expansion promised to breathe new life into Blizzard’s action RPG, introducing the highly anticipated Spiritborn class and a wealth of new content. However, what players got instead was a veritable carnival of bugs, glitches, and exploits that have transformed Sanctuary into something resembling the Wild West.

From game-breaking class mechanics to bizarre item duplication glitches, the current state of the game is drawing uncomfortable comparisons to the chaos of Season of the Malignant. But while some players are pulling their hair out in frustration, others seem to be having the time of their lives exploiting these unintended features.

And as if things couldn’t get any more interesting, Blizzard’s response (or lack thereof) to these issues has left many wondering if anyone’s actually steering the ship anymore.

A Bug for Every Occasion in Diablo 4

The Spiritborn class launched with such spectacular bugs that it’s literally breaking the game’s damage counter. We’re talking about damage numbers so high that they’re causing integer overflow errors—something you’d expect to see in a programming tutorial, not in a AAA game release.

In what could be an industry-first move, Diablo boss Rod Fergusson actually took to social media to ask players if they should fix the class or leave it in its gloriously broken state. It’s like asking kids if they want to keep their unlimited candy supply—the response was about what you’d expect!

But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. The more recent Antivenin Elixir bug has been pushing players’ health pools into the millions, players into virtually unkillable gods. While Blizzard has moved rather quickly to patch this particular exploit, it’s just one of the many issues currently plaguing the game.

The latest controversy involves a crafting exploit that’s causing chaos in the economy:

Yes, you read that right. Players have discovered a way to duplicate Masterwork materials by exploiting a salvaging bug. It’s like watching someone break a vending machine and having it spew out endless snacks—except these snacks are worth real money on the black market.

As Blizzard struggles to keep their house in order, many players are already eyeing the exit. With Path of Exile 2‘s early access launch just three weeks away, the timing couldn’t be worse for Diablo 4:

For $30 (free-to-play come full release), Path of Exile 2 is promising a more polished experience with regular updates and developer communication—two things that seem to be in short supply in Sanctuary these days. While it’s true that PoE2 takes inspiration from Diablo, it’s starting to look like the student might be surpassing the master.

The most frustrating part? These aren’t just minor inconveniences – they’re game-breaking issues that would typically warrant emergency hotfixes in any other live service game. Yet here we are, watching as players essentially turn Diablo 4 into their own personal playground while Blizzard seems content to run polls on Twitter.
