Donald Trump is currently reigning supreme in the headlines, all thanks to his win in the 2024 Presidential elections. But apart from the political landscape, he has also tried his hand in several other areas as well, such as business and, less talked about, acting. Given his popularity, Trump has also made some special appearances on television, one show in particular also featuring actor Will Smith.
The series in question was Smith’s acting debut, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and it created a record that Trump himself might not like very much.
Disturbing Record That Overshadowed Donald Trump’s Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Appearance
Created by the genius of Susan and Andy Borowitz, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air was also the debut project of actor Will Smith. In this, he played the fictionalized version of himself and had his acting chops on full display. The sitcom was an immediate hit for NBC and gave Smith his much-needed fame in the industry and lasted for six seasons.
Apart from the humor and drama, the show also brought in several cameo appearances. While stars like Queen Latifah and Jay Leno grabbed everyone’s attention, Donald Trump on the other hand failed to capture the same magic. So much so that his episode was the fifth lowest-rated episode ever of Bel-Air.
This was Episode 25 of Season 4 titled For Sale by Owner, in which Trump, alongside his wife at the time, Marla Maples, is interested in buying the Banks estate. While everyone is ecstatic to see him, Ashley on the other side yells “Thank you for ruining my life” as she’s quite sentimental about the property. To this, Donald Trump replies, “Everybody’s always blaming me for everything.”
Not only this, but one trivia also revealed the fact that during his 2016 Presidential election, this cameo of his was viewed more than any other TV or movie cameo he made.
How a Voice Mail from Will Smith Changed Keke Palmer’s Life?
Keke Palmer shared a very pivotal moment in her life in which actor Will Smith helped her navigate a major personal struggle. This in turn could have completely changed her life’s trajectory as well as her relationship with her parents Sharon and Larry. On The Toast podcast, Palmer talked about the emotional voicemail she received from Smith years ago.
During that time, she was considering emancipation from her parents, as their relationship had been strained to a great extent. She even sought legal help for the same but was also contemplating this decision of hers. While working on the Nickelodeon series True Jackson, VP, she received a voicemail from a “really, really obscure number.”
But when she listened to the same afterward, she realized that it was none other than Will Smith who had called her. She recalled what he said adding:
The actor just encouraged her to “just keep staying focused, love on your family and y’all gonna be good.” This touched Palmer emotionally and she decided not to move ahead with the emancipation. After this, she worked diligently to improve her relationship with her parents.
