The New York Jets are arguably one of the NFL’s worst franchises.

After failing to become successful even after acquiring four-time MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers two seasons ago, the team is now searching for a new head coach and a new general manager.

Former NFL executive Michael Lombardi recently discussed the Jets’ search for a new head coach.

“I think they’re gonna have a hard time attracting a really serious candidate,” Lombardi said on “The Pat McAfee Show.”

Gang Green is likely going to have an interesting offseason even if they do somehow win out and make the playoffs with a 9-8 record.

There are going to be some coveted head-coaching candidates on the market this offseason.

Current Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, arguably the greatest head coach of all time Bill Belichick, former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel, current Houston Texans offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik and former Super Bowl-winning head coach Pete Carroll could be options for teams that need a head coach.

The question is whether or not any of them would want to coach the Jets.

The team’s history isn’t great, the New York media can be relentless, and ownership hasn’t exactly done the best job.

The search also could have an effect on the futures of players such as Rodgers, wide receiver Davante Adams and several others.

Time will tell how this team plans to proceed into the offseason with new goals in mind.
